Who We Are

Our Team

"The personal guidance of one, the professional support of thousands"

Our team serves clients in many states, but primarily here in West Tennessee. Our door is always open and we are always ready to take your call. We pride ourselves on the personal relationships we maintain with each and every client. However, we are not the only one who serves you.

In addition to our Dyersburg office, there are more than 4,000 financial professionals in the home office of Raymond James, our broker/dealer in St. Petersburg, Florida. They provide all the tools and resources that financial advisors like Chad need to provide clients with well-reasoned advice, award-winning research and comprehensive wealth management services. It’s the best of both worlds, right here in Tennessee and the community we call home.

Raymond James Financial

Raymond James is one of the largest independent financial services firms in the United States. Since its beginning in 1962, it has always been a different kind of company – embracing long-term planning and methodical decision-making while staying uncompromisingly client focused. When other firms were simply buying and selling stocks or mutual funds, Raymond James focused on financial planning to help individuals reach their goals. It was the first firm to pioneer that concept – and today it supports its advisors with access to a full range of comprehensive resources, helping them to do the same.

As of 12/31/16**

  • Nearly 7,100 financial advisors
  • 2.9 million client accounts
  • Over 2,800 locations (United States, Canada and abroad)
  • Approximately $604 billion in client assets

Raymond James Financial was named the best full-service broker in the 2011 SmartMoney annual broker survey for the third time in four years – ranking above Edward Jones, Wells Fargo, UBS, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. SmartMoney does not endorse any product or service of Raymond James.

The Difference

What sets our team apart from the average financial planner

We believe there are three major points that set us apart from the average financial planner. First, Chad is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. Most people think that all financial planners are “certified,” but this isn’t true. Anyone can call himself or herself a “financial planner.” Only those who have fulfilled the certification and renewal requirements of CFP Board can display the CFP® certification marks.

Second, is our affiliation with Raymond James, our broker/dealer and one of the largest independent financial services firms in America. Raymond James provides us with everything we need to serve you well, from award-winning equity research to the full support of the 4,000 professionals in their home office. Most important, Raymond James gives us the complete freedom to offer objective, unbiased advice, so we can tailor a long-term plan based solely on your financial well-being and your specific goals. There is no pressure to sell company investment products. We heartily agree that doing what’s best for our clients is always the best way to do business.

Third, we use a process, not a sales pitch. Our process, allows us to customize a financial plan tailored to your goals. This, in turn, guides us in making investments that are in your best interest. As our client, you come first. We’re not in the business of selling you a product or service that doesn’t suit your needs.

CFP Certification

Why work with a Certified Financial Planner™ professional

Individuals certified by CFP Board have taken the extra step to demonstrate their professionalism by voluntarily submitting to the rigorous CFP® certification process that includes demanding education, examination, experience and ethical requirements. These standards are called “the four E’s,” and they are four important reasons why the financial planning practitioner you select should display the CFP® certification marks.

When selecting a financial planner, you need to feel confident that the person you choose to help you plan for your future is competent and ethical. The CFP® certification helps provide that sense of confidence by allowing only those who meet the following requirements the right to use the CFP® certification marks.

CFP®Certification Requirements: the four E’s.

Education: CFP® professionals must develop their theoretical and practical financial planning knowledge by completing a comprehensive course of study at a college or university offering a financial planning curriculum approved by CFP Board. Other options for satisfying the education component include submitting a transcript review or previous financial planning-related course work to CFP Board for review and credit, or showing the attainment of certain professional designations or academic degrees.

Examination: CFP® practitioners must pass a comprehensive two-day, 10-hour CFP® Certification Examination that tests their ability to apply financial planning knowledge in an integrated format. Based on regular research of what planners do, the exam covers the financial planning process, tax planning, employee benefits and retirement planning, estate planning, investment management and insurance.

Experience: CFP® professionals must have three years’ minimum experience in the financial planning process prior to earning the right to use the CFP® certification marks. As a result, CFP® practitioners possess financial counseling skills in addition to financial planning knowledge.

Ethics: As a final step to certification, CFP® practitioners agree to abide by a strict code of professional conduct, known as CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, that sets forth their ethical responsibilities to the public, clients and employers. CFP Board also performs a background check during this process, and each individual must disclose any investigations or legal proceedings related to their professional or business conduct.

How does CFP Board’s Code of Ethics benefit me?

Through the Code of Ethics, CFP® practitioners agree to act fairly and diligently when providing you with financial planning advice and services, putting your interests first. The Code of Ethics states that CFP® practitioners are to act with integrity, offering you professional services that are objective and based on your needs. They are required to provide you with information about their sources of compensation and conflicts of interest in writing.

Ongoing certification requirements

Once certified, CFP® practitioners are required to maintain technical competence and fulfill ethical obligations. Every two years, they must complete a minimum 30 hours of continuing education to stay current with developments in the financial planning profession and better serve clients. Two of these hours are spent studying or discussing CFP Board’s Code of Ethics or Practice Standards. In addition to the biennial continuing education requirement, all CFP® practitioners voluntarily disclose any public, civil, criminal or disciplinary actions that may have been taken against them during the previous two years as part of the renewal process.

CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and  are certification marks owned by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board), which can help you identify financial planners who are committed to competent and ethical behavior when providing financial planning.
